Wink Got ahold of that one

It's always nice to every once in a while really catch one and hit it further than you could ever imagine . The other day I was playing a pretty ****** local course with a buddy and hit the longest 2i of my life. After a pretty up and down front we get to 9th, which is a short (297yrd) slightly right to left par 4. the fairway also slopes right to left so if you take it down the right side you usually get some extra roll and end up in the center. Averaging about 215-220, and previously hitting a 2i to about 50yrds when the course was really dry, I wait for the group in front to reach the green before I hit...will I should have waited longer. With some wind at our backs and hitting a little draw I flew the 297yrd green and almost hit a guy on the green . ended up with a par cause my ball rolled through the green into a pretty nasty lie . The guy I almost hit was mad as **** and waited for us on the tenth. His anger quickly turned to amazement when He found out I had just hit a 2i over 300

Amazing! I've caught some on the sweet spot once in a while during my 40+ years golfing, but nothing like that.

I did that once on a 373/4 with my driver. Scared the group on the green and myself, too. The nice thing was they were not mad at me when I got to the green. They just asked what ball I used and what club.

I flew one on a 398 yrd par 4 last week...landed softly and rolled up on the green ever soo nicely..the group had just finished putting out so they didnt really even notice the ball..just head a hit and saw it roll up..pretty funny to talk to them later when they realized what hole it was.

You guys all make me sick. I can't even see that far. I hope in my next life I grow up to be just like you guys, LOL. Though I can't do anything like that I sure do enjoy watching those of you who can. I just don't like stepping up on the tee box behind you. Have a good one.

I hit one 365 once on a very downhill hole pin high. About a month ago hit one 333 pin high, and the funniest of them all was when I hit one about 340 on a hole that was probably 400 yard par 4. The rough was lined with houses and a few guys where out cooking out or whatever. I get up to my ball and this guy comes out of know where saying "Nice drive...what tees ya play?" lol.

They don't seem to put 2 irons in to UK sets for some reason... Great shame in my opinion, as I actually was forced to go out & get myself an 18" driving iron, which I'm assuming is a fairly similar beastie, a rather nice...
See Here http://www.benross.co.uk/2005/produc...sp?PRODID=VXDi
Mine has a Graphite shaft & seems a tad light for me. I've a slow swing & normally like something with a fair lump of metal for that aditional inertia.

Even with its lightness I'v been managing 150 - 190 yards from it consitently once I got used to it.

My golf pro got holf of it during a lesson when I mentioned I'd bought one & he proceded to send a ball into the next county with it.

Well it seemd that way. And he commented on the lightness of the VXDi too.

They do not come standard over here, either. You have to purchase the 2-iron seperately.

Man! You beat the heck out of that 2 iron. Once on the tee box on a 365/4, there was the group in front of us hitting there second shot and it was a dog leg right, over a big lake so i knew i would be safe to see if i could hit the green without hitting them. I drove it! When i got there i was looking for my ball and the guys in front had picked it up.. i was like oh... yea, that was my drive i need that back. One guy was like "boy u sure did put a whoopin on that ball!" ha we all got a good laugh.

Usually I tee my ball up as high as possible and try and kill the first drive down the middle, it's 440 yards so Par is a real bonus to start the round. I hit it pure but it was drifting left and I lost sight of it, I thought it was in the left rough but there was a ball about 50 yards short of the green and no other groups about and it turned out to be my ball.

Chipped in on and lipped the birdie putt, typical.

I have a long drive story. 372/4 slight dogleg left. I went right at it with everything I had, and it rolled to 30 feet of the pin. I walked up to the green and was in utter shock when I saw the location of my ball. Lipped out the eagle putt, but tapped in for the bird. Best hole of my life.
