First Eagle!!!

Well I finally got one. After a dissappointing front nine (11 over), the head pro and I moved to the 323 yrd par four 10th. I hit a decent drive, and had about a 20 foot chip. Was a little bit of an awkward lie, but I hit it perfectly and it rolled into the center of the cup!!! I have had a lot of eagle "chances", feels nice to have the first one under the belt. Got my spirits up and shot 2 over on the back nine.

Sweet. A 2 on a par 4 is known as a "deuce" around here...better than a 3 on a par 5. So, it's even better than you thought.

I had a deuce on one of the first rounds this season. I had a great drive in perfect position, then a bladed a 60 degree wedge from 70 yards out, hit the flag stick hard (almost broke it), kicked straight back a few feet, then somehow went right in the hole. If it didn't hit the flag I would have been waaaay over the green. Not exactly the way I wanted to hit it, but not a bad result. It let me break 80, too.

CONGRATULATIONS!! Certainly is a wonderful feeling and a milestone in your stroll through the hardest, yet most wonderful, game in the world. I hope there are more eagles out there waiting for you. Have a good one.

Got my first eagle on my new home course today. Number 2 is a par 5 about 490 yards. I hit a horrible drive and decided to lay up across the water into the fairway. Really got into the 3 wood and it bounced in the fairway and got up into the rough about 85 yards out. Pulled my LW and took a nice smooth swing. I saw the ball bounce on the green but a mound blocked my view of the hole. We get up to the green and one of my playing partners says he thinks my ball went in the hole. I was like.."no way..that's me on the back fringe." So he says there is no way that's me back there because I hit too far forward on the green. So I told him there was no way I was looking in the cup. He walks up and says it's in there. I said.."Stop messing with me" not in those words exactly. So he bends over and plucks that bad boy out of there. 3 baby..3..amazing lucky shot. Anyway..first eagle in a while..and my first on my new home course.

Fantastic! I know how thrilled I was with my first (and only) birdie. Since I'm still relatively a beginner, I get excited when I only bogie a hole. I guess that tells you the level of my game.

Thanks guys ... this has just made me want it even more. My scores have been dropping, and this is just a nice bonus. Hoping to be in single digits by the end of the summer.

Big congrats on your first eagle!!
There's only one thing I have to ask you, though. A 316 yard drive, coming to rest only 20 feet from the hole on a 323 yrd par 4 is only a "decent drive" to you???

LOL well this hole sets up perfect, a little dogleg left and I am a lefty that plays a fade. The wind was at my back that day, and I hit a good one (it actually was past the hole), guess the chip just made me forget about the drive!!!

Dude, you don't know the half of it. We had it cranking out of those 4 inch speakers. Dokken, Motley, Ratt, Whitesnake, Kix, Dio, White Lion, Great White, Europe, Scorpions, Priest, Def Leppard, Madonna(how did that get in there?), Faster Pussycat, Trixter, Anthrax, Accept, Krokus, Killer Dwarfs, MegaDeth, Cinderella, Bon Jovi....ect.

I had the full on big hair, David Lee Roth look working. Can of hairspray and some spandex, the babes were everywhere. Except when we were in the Eagle.
