Cool Shots I've Hit Lately

This can be anything. Something with maybe a high degree of difficulty that you tried and it worked out. Mine was a 153 yard bunker shot, uphill with a crosswind. I hit a great drive that caught a trap in the right fairway. They're always saying on TV how easy it is if you hit the ball first... it usually doesn't work out for me. The ball was 6" below my feet, pulled a 7-iron and I hit the ball first ... put it about pin high 25'. I just about That par made my day.

Last week, while playing my home course: Par 5 520 yards. Hit a terrible drive, shanked my second shot 50 yards, and hit the third shot to the left side of the fairway. Now I'm standing behind a tree, 125 yards from the green shooting my 4th shot on a par 5.
...without any logical explanation, and contrary to my mental situation at the time, I align myself right of the hole, and hit a beautiful, hi draw around the tree, to 8 feet. Knocked the put in and walked away with a par.

In the last tournament, I holed out a SW from about 60 yards and another SW from about 50 yards. This was during a UGA (state am) tournament. The first one was on the very first hole, so it was a great way to start the tournament. Unfortunately, I hit two OB on the next hole and got a 10 (par 5).

For both shots, I was using a newly learned technique from a quick chipping lesson I had about a week before. I was also using a 56 degree SW for those shots when I would normally use a 60.

The 60 yarder was from the fairway after I recovered from a total block off the tee. I couldn't see the fairway or green, but hit a good 4 wood back into play. I hit the SW lower than I expected (didn't carry as much as desired), but I hit it well otherwise. It got a good bounce before rolling on the green and just went right into the center of the hole with great speed. Another player said it had a lot of spin, too (just to slow it down for a nice, slow roll ).

The second was after I hit my approach shot left of the green and into a creek. I could only see the top part of the flag from where I dropped. I hit it exactly how and where I wanted to land it. I knew it could be close. When I started to walk up, someone said it was a great shot. So, I thought I might be able to make the putt. When I saw the ball, it looked really close. Then, I looked again after getting closer and the ball was gone! It was between the flag and hole at first, then dropped all the way down. So, I got a bogey. I had to punch out from by the same creek after the drive.

The last time I played was Tuesday (finals ) in a 9-hole scramble, My best shots were a 9i from 160 to 8 feet to set up an eagle after the first 4 holes were pars. Then on the next hole (a par 4) we made a 2 putt birdie, the following hole I hit my 52* wedge from 125 to about a foot, my partners brought us home on the next 2 holes, but I did make the final birdie putt... after they showed me the line

Today was one of the best shots in a while. Playing a par 5 I hit a power fade (it wasn't a slice) wayyy right, punched out and was left with 190metres to the pin over a water hazard in a strong wind. Pulled 3 wood and hit it 8 feet and drained the putt for a four.
Then on the next hole hit beautiful tee shot long, straight on a par 4 and made 5.
Gotta love the game don't ya.

I reached the par 5 2nd at my local course in two shots for the first time when I played last week on my birthday.

It was down wind and I hit a good drive which caught a slope at about 250 yards and ran about another 40. So I had 220 down wind to the green, I hit a smooth three wood and it landed about 10 yards short of the green and ran up to about 30 feet.

I wont mention the three putt.....

Hmmmm..... shots that have made me feel good.....
Probably today when I was on #7 tee, and some guys that are in one of my classes at school are playing right infront of me, then they start talking to each other and looking at me, probably saying something like 'haha she..plays golf '
They were real hacks from what I saw... and then they ask me to challenge them to see who can drive the longest on the next tee .... so I did... and I won... then they just stand there going .
I just found that kinda funny

Playing alone on the local par three last week I chipped a 40-yarder which bounced twice and rolled into the cup. Out loud and to no one but me I exclaimed, "It went it?!"

Just to know that a shot like that is possible keeps me swinging.

Hitting a 7 Iron within 2 foot of the hole for an easy birdie on the hardest hole on the course. Even better because I thought I hit it too long and was in the rough at the back.

No self confidence in my ability...

I was playing a short executive. First hole was about 110 or so. I hit short right off the green about 5 feet from the fringe. There's a downhill slope after a small mound in front to the hole about 5 feet down to the hole. I pull my 58* SW, open the face and slash at it 3/4 swing and fast, ball pops up pefectly travels about 7 feet and checks up within an inch. If I had caught the ball any another way it could have been in the parking lot or sitting two feet from my divot.

playing #1 yesterday in interclub I was one up on my opponent playing the eighteenth. I was on the green about 40 feet and he was short sided about thirty feet away in thick grass. I rolled my putt two foot past thinking I had the win.......you guessed it, he flopped it in! Never looked like missing and would have only rolled 6 inches past at the most. In front of both seven man teams, administrators and gallery. Well done!!

Saturday - 10 yds short of the 9th green, and the pin was about 12 ft. from the front, on a front-to-back sloping green. I played a mini-flop with a lob wedge that came off perfectly, and stopped 12" right of the pin for a tap-in par. Shot of the day for me.

The same thing happens with my 7 iron, if I hit it the right distance it looks like its going 20 yards too far
