USGA Membership

Just got home from work received my USGA membership package, and was curious as to how many members of GR are also USGA members. Several years ago I signed up for the PGA Partners Club IMO that was a waste of money for what I got from them. Do not get me wrong they maybe a good organization but I saw no real benefit. I had golfing friends that have said the same about membership with the USGA. It should be interesting to get comments from other members.

I think its all junk. I usually keep the free letter return labels they send and trash the rest. Just a quick way for someone to get some of my money if you ask me. I mean what all do they send you? If I remember right you get a member card, a divot too and some top flite balls or something?

The PGA Partners Club yes is a waste, but I think the USGA membership is far from being a waste.

I don't see any benefit to most of the "join me" offers. I remember once I joined something, don't even remember what it was, could have been PGA Partners, but not sure. I got some coupons that were supposed to get discounts for me at some courses. I called one and they didn't know what I was talking about. I just really don't care to join anything, even the USGA. I can get a rules book anywhere and I don't like decal stickers. Plus, I don't agree with some of the rules but my guess is that they don't care whether I, or anyone else does. They are the law that rules the land and we don't get to vote on anything that I'm aware of. This is just my opinion and I'm sure the USGA does many good things for golf but I have no interest in joining them. I already pay enough in membership dues and tournament fees, etc. Has to stop somewhere. Have a good night all.
