i have a home made swing, i have taken as many tips as i can remember from the golf channel and tried them and combined the ones that work the best into my swing, so it is not textbook but it is nice and smooth, gets the job done....most of the time

My swing is a hybrid, my clubs are clones, the results are a tapestry.

And I love it!

I really don't know how I would describe it....where's the option for "ugly and uneffective?"

Definitely textbook. I've spent hours emulating Ernie Els' swing. I even videotaped myself and "corrected" all the improper positions and angles. I have the pose and reverse "C" down pat. For those of you who haven't done so, I would definitely recommend videotaping your swing. You'll learn A LOT.

Exclamation

I would like to get my hands on The Textbook! The pros I take lessons from apparently don't use the same book.

I definitely shoot for textbook, but almost always end up with functional.

This is something better described by a playing partner (Bolt, feel free). I'd describe mine as violent.
