After my lesson this morning me and my dad practised chipping as we could not get on the course
I was very pleased with my performance when i was chipping and then, for the first time ever, i chipped the ball straight into the hole ! It would have gone miles past if it missed
How many of you have done this before ?
Just to say, i was disapointed with my irons today i just couldn't hit them ! But i did hit my driver well
I have chipped in the hole a couple times in practice, never when it counted .
I like the way you are looking at your "positives". Many times, we can get so focused on what we don't do well, that we overlook the things that we have done well.
As I practice, one thing will be working for me and I just can't get the others to. Next day, the thing that was working is gone, but I'm able to do the others. I just keep working for the day that it all comes together.
It's a great feeling isn't it? I did it for my first birdie of the year (3rd of my lifetime). It was a great feeling, because i'd missed about 10 birdie chances before it and was thinking i might not get one this year. But chipping in as i did was great. It took all the pressure of my other birdie putts this year (waiting to get ur first of the year=pressure) and i've had 5 more since.
I've actually chipped in over 10 times. I prefer chipping from the fringes rather than putting because I think I have more feel. I've only slam dunked once though and that was awesome.
3 rounds ago i chipped in for birdie on the hardest par3 i've ever played. 212 yds from the tips. really tight. hit a 2i kinda weak and ran a low running pw up & in.
that's only the second time i've chipped in. first time was my first birdie. it was only a 101yd par3, but it was so cool. it was uphill with alot of break.
Way to go kid. Wait until you get that first one when it really counts. You almost float to the cup to pick out your ball. I imagine your dad was pretty proud too. It always is a good feeling seeing your kids do something special.
