Not trying to reply with a smart answer but first of how long have you been playing golf? 1 year 2 years etc. it's hard to answer and opened question like this without a bit more info about yourself.

When I was 16 I shot in the mid 80s usually and i had about 4 years of playing experience at that point.

my 16 yr old playing partner plays to a scratch handicap...last weekend we went to the Bethpage Black, and he came in with a 74 playing from the Pro Tips, which stretches the course to about 7400+ yards, with 6 inch rough, and greens like glass, yet he has trouble finding the top of the leaderboard on the AJGA...which goes to show the skill level these days of kids in that age group

Not enough info. The best 16 year olds break par regularly. If you just started 120 would be about right.

I'm 16 and in grade 11 and have been playing since the summer in between grade 9-10 and I can shoot pretty close to par but mostly mid 70's. (this is just me and i work my butt of and hope to be scratch by september.)
It all just depens on how much you work at it and how good you aspire to be.

Agree with Halk, really a function in a way of how long you've been playing, have you had good instruction, do you practice regularly and how often do you get to play...also scoring low on courses around your area that don't challenge you or your game is not good if you want to compete with your peers in tournaments, etc.

I'd have to say that's pretty reasonable...how many rounds can you get in a season, granted from Canada and your season is short.

Most 16 year old will not be shooting at or around par. I've played with enough kids to know that they don't play the rules as they should all the time. I mean if you're 16 with normal play every year and you've been playing for a few years I'd say realistically like 90 would be a good score. That's if you're playing by the rules and you're playing on a championship course.

I remember when I was 16, I always thought I was a pretty good golfer cause I could shoot mid 70's on my local courses. Well I soon found out that when I got on a championship course my scores shot up quite a bit. My local courses were probably like 113 or so slope.

Not to say that being 16 and shooting par or better on a championship course is impossible cause Tiger did it and there are tons of kids that can do it now, but if you're 16 thinking that if you don't shoot even par then you're not any good then you're wrong, even par for a 16 year old isnt' normal.

I dont work much on my game though, I work loong hours at work and by the time im home im really tired so cant find the energy to go out and play a few or practice. Makes me enjoy the rounds I do play alot more, Which is mostly every saturday / sunday afternoon, Anyways. Yeah, At 16 I was shooting mid 80's.

I was strictly 80's and 90's when I was 16 on the golf team. My low round in an 18 hole tournament was an 80 (district qualifier that we won). I doubled the last hole in that round after hitting a fairway wood into the middle of the woods. I was #5 varsity.

My friend shot a 73 in that tournament and won on the first hole in a playoff. He popped up his drive, hit a long iron pin high, and made a 35 foot putt for birdie. The other guy hit a long drive, hit a short iron way left and way long and got a bogey.

This was my initiation tournament...got thrown into the pool...had to wear the same pair of jeans the next day hehe.
