Favorite Stories about tour players who complain about the gallery noise etc.

The other night on Golf Channel they were talking about players with "Rabbit Ears" who were distracted by every little noise or movement.

One of the panel members said at the U.S. Open in San Fran. on the tee of a par three Colin Montgomery did not want to hit until the NBC Blimp was moved out of his line of sight!!!

He proceeded to miss the green by about 20 yards and cussed all the way to the green.

It's been reported that in his prime Monty would complain about the noise made by a butterfly landing on a flower.........

I attended the US Open in 97 at Congressional. Monty shot a great round on Thursday but Friday he his "Rabbit ears" on. He ended up losing the tournament to Els. I remember him stomping around the course like a spoiled cry baby. His demeanor and attitude left alot to be desired. I thought his actions were due to his poor play but later on I heard he had been heckled by fans on the holes I saw him play. To be honest I didn't hear a whole lot that would have caused him to be that upset over. To me he used it as an excuse for his poor play.

Monty's reputation caused a remark by a friend of my dad after they got back from the '98 Masters: "When Monty came by, [your dad] was jinglin' his change..."
