Kind of. Always with short irons. I have reared back to chuck it a few times and stopped short in fear of hurting someone/myself or doing damage to the course. They then in a few cases got have heartedly tossed toward the cart.
Nothing in comparison to the guy I got paired with one day who intentionally tossed his wedge toward the cart after every shot (from as much as 20 yards in some cases). The guy was truly bizarre and fortunately have never seen him since.
Its the caddies fault anyways, he should have done something about those slippery grips weeks ago.
I've only thrown a club down ONCE. I was struggling that day, and on the final hole, I chose a 5Wood, since my Driver/3W was really off-whack that day.
After topping the 5W off the last hole, I tossed it HARD to the ground, and it skittled over and across the cart path, putting LOTS of gouges and scratches on the clubhead. good thing it was a cheep 5W, I don't think I would have done that with a more expen$ive club.
I don't recall throwing a club. I have discarded my tee further into the ground with the driver head on several occasions, but don't remember throwing anything.
My dad has a bad temper on the golf course. He tends to curse and get very frustrated, I've even seen him throw a club or two. I hate playing with him when he gets like that, so it has helped me to be more mellow on the course with concern for those around me.
NOT YET.
I guess I've played too many sports in which "anger" is used against you.
I spend the majority of my time trying to use someone else's anger against them, that I've never actually had time to be angry at myself for anything.
I love me!!!
Why get angry at me?
I do play with some "former javelin throwers" though it seems.
They have it down to an art form. When there's no one else around it CAN be quite amusing. Still hasn't dawned on them, that their game goes straight down hill from there.
Never thrown a club that I can remember, but I vaguely remember throwing a ball or two into the woods or the lake a few years back. I guess that was the one good thing about playing Top-Flites.
Of course! I'll be honest about it. I broke my putter last year when I lipped out a 1-foot par putt. Lets see....I broke a sand wedge, 5 wood, a driver, an 8 iron, and bent a pitching wedge. The only one that happen this year was the 8 iron...was hitting balls in the cold and trew it on the ground and the shaft busted...That was this winter. Now if I get mad I just think "Hey, breaking the club isn't going to help get the ball in the hole"

Anger management? Much?
j/k, when I was younger I was nearly ejected from my home course, twice. And I was playing by myself. I was 12. It wasn't pretty.
I've never really lost my temper on the course - once my putter flew from my hand when I protested on missing a tiddler (but the grip was wet and it slipped honest guv). I did once walk off the course on the 16th tee because I felt my control going and didn't want to embarrass everyone on the course.
My cousin chucks his club occasionally - once he busted the stand on his brand new Sun Mountain 3.5 stand bag! Served him right.
The last time I throw a club was over 20 yrs ago when I broke my pitching wedge. When I was in my teens, I threw them all the time - something I regret when I look back at my poor behavior. Now I'm all to used to hitting bad shots -I've had plenty of practice controlling my temper after a bad shot!
One thing I am most proud of is that my son has not inherited my temper when it comes to golf. He just started last year (he's now 15). While he gets very frustrated like any golfer, he hasn't used inappropriate language, thrown or slammed down his clubs in anger. He's conducted himself very well, even if he hasn't scored the way he wants to. I've never told him how to conduct himself, because he seems to naturally have the proper ettiquete.
I used to have a pretty violent temper and my putter had more air miles than a lot of Delta pilots--but I have quit doing all that and just enjoy the game. Now I limit my anger to giving myself a severe talking to.
