Sounds interesting. Never heard of cross country golf. Would love to see how they set the course up to get 1000 yard holes. Do you connect two holes and play right over one of the greens? How many holes do you play? Maybe this is common in some places, but not here in Orlando. Could you please post more on how this is played out.

By the way: " CONGRADULATIONS "

Any tournament win feels good....congrats on the win. btw, I see you're from Fairbanks....how much longer can you guys play up there? I get depressed that we'll be snowed in likely within the next 2 and a half months...you guys no doubt have an even shorter season.

We've had a few cross-country events at our club. I've never played but it does sound interesting. They mark out the course with, for example, teeing off from the 7th tee and playing on to the 8th green. We also had one hole which was from the 1st tee to the 18th green - a 75 yard par 3, but VERY uphill.

hole #2 was 175 par 3 from #3 tee to 6 green. Hole 3 was a par 7 {dusie} 900 + yard up hill with all kind of trees water sand etc.............. from #4 blue tees {355 par 4) to #13 green { 496 par 5) with #7 fairway and 14 fairway in the way lol. Hole 4 was back down the hill par 6 dogleg thou the trees from 14 blue tees to 12 green 750 yards {was a easy hole} Hole #5 par 5 easy hole from 16 blue tee to 7 green only 550 yards nothing in the way here :{

We do something similar at our club in the fall when it is nor busy. If we go from our 7th tee to the 16th green it must be about 1,500 yards with a couple of rivers to cross and a cliff to get up.

Congrats. on your win BTW

The best cross country golf hole is from the first tee at Randwick GC in Sydney's eastern suburbs, across the neighbouring The Coast GC, then across St Michael's GC and finish on the 6th green at New South Wales. used to be played once a year on either Good friday or Xmas day when the courses were all closed. Don't know what the best score is but it was always an all day event accompanied by several eskies (coolers) and dozens of golf balls due to the wild tea tree, cliffs and water on all four courses.
