need some advice
This is my first post, i've been lurking here for a bit, just picked up the game again about 2 yrs ago and last week I had a great day on 10/07/2005 I got my second hole in one, on a par 4, 275 yards, off the tee, w/ a #1 driver 9*.
After that day I decided to go get my swing analysis done, because I hate my driver, "this hole in one was luck". yes everything was in plane and hit the sweet spot etc etc ... but im not consistant with it.
well after the swing analysis, here's what I found about me and my driver.
swing speed; driver swing speed 94 mph, iron swing speed 74 mph, most of the time im hitting my irons on the toe end of the sole of the club, my driver slice and can only get the out there to about 200 yards. So like I said that hole in one was lucky! My shaft is a reg. flex with a flex point more in the middle of the shaft, were as the AlDILA that I demoed was more stiffer in the middle.
while getting my analysis I got a chance to use a demo Ben Hogen CS3, with Aldila shaft reg flex which was more stiffer then my Tommy Arrmor 835 driver, I hit the Ben H. farther and strighter. and I really like the feel better.
differences: the CS3 has fixed weights and a stiffer shaft (AlDILA REG. FLEX) then my current driver, which also has a reg.flex but the flex in the Tommy A. has the flex in the lower part of the shaft, then the ADILA shaft. the Ben H. head is alot different the Tommy A. has a bigger head bigger sweet spot then the Ben H., im thinking if it can be done can I get a taylormade R7 with a AlDILA SHAFT? or can I put one on? my thinking is this if I can get a nonfixed weighted head with this a AlDILA shaft that is a bit stiffer would that work for me, that way I can adjust the weights to comform to my play, as I progress I figure I can always set back the weights to nuatrul position, is this a expensive way or is there a easier way I can do this? I've never got the chance to use a R7 but I think it would be a versitile club which I can use for a long time.
I got alot of info from here, this is a great resourse great web site, any and all advise would be great. sorry this is so long winded.
thank you all,
marty
