UK friends' advice needed

Hi guys (especially those from London, UK),

need your help.
news is that I'll soon be moving to London.

My main concern (we all are avid golfers... you know...) is to find out a driving range close to the places where I'll be living and working.
I'll be living in Chelsea and working in the City.

Any idea where I could practice (either lunch time in the City or dinner time in Chelsea)?

Thanks so much in advance.

Only one I know of anywhere near there is the Malden driving range just off the A3. It's gonna be about 8-10 miles from Chelsea though. It's not too bad though. Got two tiers which is kind of interesting. Space in London is at a premium, so I'm not sure you'll find many full size ranges anywhere closer.

I hope to be stood corrected though. Good luck with that and your move.

Guys,
thanks very much for your inputs and kind words.

One more question.

As I'll be moving, I need new equipment (cannot bring my clubs to the UK as I need to play when I am occasionally back...)...

any suggestions as to a good quality-reasonable price golf shop in london, with a high level fitting department?

was thinking to buy titleist 735 cm, but need to be custom fitted as I am 6'10''. furthermore, wanna be sure to pick up the right shaft for my needs.

Thanks again

well theres http://www.citygolfclubs.com/ bang in the city, but it seems to be not much more than a bank of simulators (suppose that'll be great in the winter).
Theres Richmond Park Assn Golf Club listed near chelsea but i cant find any more details. Looking at a map I can't work out where the course is either.
I live in North London btw and practice at trent park. Theres loads of clubs round here to choose from.

Soren... my advice for new clubs would be to take the time to get out to Silvermere golf club, which is in Cobham, SW of London. You just take the A3 (mentioned above) and get off at Cobham. They have the full suite of fitting equipment and the fitting fee is refunded against whatever you purchase.

The golf shop at Croydon Driving Range (S London) is probably the cheapest in Britain, but their custom fitting options are not as good as Silvermere's.

Failing that, the posh golf clubs of Surrey (Wentworth, Sunningdale etc) will be good for sorting you out.

There are a number of clubs at Wimbledon, which is not far from Chelsea - just cross Putney Bridge and follow the signs.
