...took the Step-son to BWI this morning, passing 3 courses along I-70....the greens were covered with fresly frozen water droplets...30 degrees and no golfing weather in the 4 month forecast.....I used to dig winter, but I'd really rather be teeing it up somewhere sunny and warm.....
I feel your pain. It was 41 and drizzly in the Nashville area yesterday. My buddy and I pulled up to the course and there were 20 other goofballs waiting to tee it up. One of those days where the wind just blows the chill right thru you. Hey...it was golf!
I woke up and the first thing I saw was three inches this morning........................................... .................................................. ...............................................No, not that......it was snow! Simp

ROFL! We had a little snow on the ground here this morning but got mostly rain down here at the shore. It was still too wet to play though.
You guys are lucky! We never get much rain when it could go either way. We always get the snow part of it. There's probably still an inch of slushy stuff left here now. If you would've played in this weather (wet or not) my hat's off to ya. Simp
I may have played if my friend wanted to go and it wasnt wet. We're usually on the rain side of the line here in Jersey. If it can go one way or the other, it rains. In the summer, it's a few degrees cooler here by the water and in winter a few degrees warmer. Yeps, lucky hehe. Last Wednesday was really nice, over 60 degrees. Come on spring! ;)
Lake effect snow (insert any random phrase meaning "is bad" here)...we had 16"+ on the ground at home when I left this evening. This after having a similar amount last week, which melted quickly...I don't believe we'll be so lucky this time.
Sunny, temp around 75, light breeze. I played a little executive course today - first golf I've played in a few weeks due to back troubles. Really felt good to play again, although the rust was evident. This course has a special afternoon rate - $8 after 3pm, play as much as you can. Unfortunately I got behind a father and his 9 year old son who were obviously not regular golfers, and in front of them was a foursome that were only one step ahead of the coroner.
Oh well, it was fun, and every time I started to get frustrated at the rate of play, I remembered all my poor friends in northern climates who can't even play at this time of year, and I was thankful for my blessings!

That's the spirit!!!
...I'd do the same.... and smile as I tee'd off!!

Oh yeah, us Northerners are just thrilled that ya'll get to play this time of year and we get to read about your good rounds. Now if you'll excuse me I'm gonna go hang myself . Simp
One of my daughters has a part time job at a course in Myrtle Beach. I usually play as a single when I visit. Almost every time out I've played with guys from NJ. Some were trying to extend the golf season, others were getting an early start. One guy was days away from heading back to Iraq. There's flight with your name on it! Hooters Air flies fight in to MB.
I'm supposed to play a tournament this coming Saturday at the Club, they are talking possibilities of sleet on Wed......drives should be okay, putting could be a pain.

Yeah, you've really got to be careful of those slippery uphillers!
