Have Questions On Being Marshal For Free Golf
Have you ever been a marshal? I'm off for 2 weeks and want to Marshall get to play free at the course I play every week. Seems like a good deal: 5 hours riding around the course and then free play during the week days for the next week.
I'm doing it tomorrow. Now I realize that I don't know what to expect. What if it rains daily during the following 7 days: tough luck or can you "bank" the days?
Can you offer any advice?
Thanks!

I thought I was going to be able to play unlimited golf after working 5 hours. When I showed up, I was told that in exchange for 6 hours and I would only get to play 18 holes for free. That would equate to being paid $4.33/per hour. I said forget it. Since I was there, I decided to play 9 and paid $13 the weekday Senior Rate. I shot 40! By the way, this is my personal best on this Par 34 course.
Like they say, about Free Lunches. . .

I don't know exactly what you wanted, but that seems more than fair.

Doesn't sound too good of a deal, No Knack Hack. Around here they work one day a week and get unlimited golf, including cart, and range balls. It's mostly retired guys doing it. I don't blame you for not doing it.

Unless it's an unlimited thing or you're very lucky with where you work, the "work to play for free" thing is never as good an idea as it sounds. It's always more work and less play than you bargained for!!
