Front foot flared 45* back foot not flared. The more you flare your back foot the more you'll be able to turn on the backswing however, for me, the more I turn in my backswing the more I get the club outta position for the down swing. Wished I had the ability to turn more back and still get solid contact cause I think I could hit it a tad bit further.

I notice this morning when I was practicing my swing at home I got a little more shoulder rotation when I flared my back foot.
Without any right foot flare my backswing stops at about 3/4's. With right foot flare I can get the club pretty close to parallel on the backswing.
I'm interesting in at least trying this whole foot flare concept to that reason and I think by flaring my left foot it will help get more on left side in terms of weight tranistion on the downswing.
I recall reading in Hogan's book that he flared the front foot...about 30*, I think. He kept the back foot perpendicular.
I have David Ledbetters book "Fundamentals of Ben Hogan" and it has photographs showing Hogan flaring his front foot and keeping his back foot straight.
I have a golf buddy who does it and he says it helps stabilize his balance on a full swing and also promotes a good rotation by limiting his ability to sway.
I was told you should keep the back foot square because it helps with balance and flare the front foot a bit.... I only do that on short iron shots though.

It is interesting how something as little as turning one foot 30* can make that much of a difference. Like everything else in golf, experiment with varying degrees for both front and back to figure out what combo gives you the best results.

Thanks EddieC, I'll be at the driving range after work today working on this. I tried this for a little while during last winter I'm noticed it feels like I can clear my hips better on the downswing and "Come through" the ball better. I've made some other changes since then. We'll see what happens when I add this to mix.
I don't flare my feet...I've tinkered with flaring each at times and have been messing around with it lately...if I do flare either, it probably won't be by more than 15º to help a little with balance.
My pro has me flaring my left foot from 30 to 45° to help promote the weight shift and to protect my bad left hip a bit. My right foot isn't flared much more than 10°.
