I would like to play The Colonial

It is of course exclusive , in Fort Worth Texas, A close friend from out of town wants to come and visit, he is a former High School State Golf Champion, scratch golfer, and he asks if there is any way!!!!!

The club says no, get on waiting list to try and become a member, ie: NO Way! $$$, and I don't know any members directly...thought of the tricks in Rick Reilly's book, but couldn't...

Anyway, anybody have any ideas or had any success on getting just one round at a Club like this ??!! Heck I would just drive the Cart or Caddy for him!!!!!!!!!!

Try writing a letter to the president of the club. Explain that you simply want to enjoy a day on a great golf course, that you and your friend are good golfers, and would be willing to pay for the round and the caddy fees/tips.

I had a similair problem with Sunningdale when I moved there. I employed the caddymaster's girlfriend as a part time cleaner , and bingo, I was on within a month.

I think Golf Digest had an article about this last year. The best way to get on to an exclusive course is to be a member of a private golf course and have your head pro call another club's head pro. Of course the more exclusive the club you join the better this works. It seems often these clubs work out recipricol aggreements with each other.

That is true, If you get your head pro at a private club call the head pro at that club it can be done....
