How do you figure a golfer handicapp
Hi this is my first time here. I have not played any golf in about ten years and am planning on dusting my clubs off and start again. My husband has started back playing again too. I was wondering how do you figure your handicap? Could someone please tell me? Thanks and I am glad I found this site. Janiebell22

Here in the UK the Ladies have a completely different way of working out there handicaps but the mens is easy.
Play 3 medal rounds and add the difference between your scores and the total "Standard Scratch Score" of the courses, divide by 3 and that is about your handicap. The men's handicapping system takes a view that at worst you score two over par on each hole so have a maximun handicap of 28. I know the Ladies have both 36 and 36+, the 36+ means that they have not played to 36 yet. Hope this helps.
