I look for any opportunity to get in a round of golf. I carry my sticks with me, just in an unplanned round turns up. I'm a "Regional Sales Manager" and drive all over Northern California on the job. When out of town, I try for "twilight" specials to keep the cost down and get my golf "fix". My employer will periodically pay for rounds with customers and industry tournaments.
By this month-to-date, March 20, I've played (3) 9-hole rounds and (2) 18-hole rounds. One paid for by my employer was at Poppy Ridge (a wonderful NCGA-owned course in Livermore and related to Poppy Hills in Monterey -- shot 105 -- I was thrilled).
I'm am taking today off and will get in 18 with several friends.
We've been having a lot of rain, but believe it or not, I haven't been rained on, just a brief drizzle.
I play as often as I can...right now that is not at all, I had surgery on my elbow. Poppy Ridge is a nice Links style course, but if it is wet and your game is off watch out...wasn't raining but the grass was VERY soggy last time I played there.
I'm in Concord, maybe we can get together after I am healed...
Definitely not as much as I once did! With a wife and 3 young kids it's hard to get out when I want to. I average probably 3-5 times per month and half of those are "under the radar" from the wife. Simp

We have a standing T-time at Diablo Hills every Saturday. We field a 4-some of the same guys but have various friends join us periodically, expanding us from 5 to 8 players.
Hope you have a great recovery and can again play with vigor and passion.
I'm definitely not gonna get to play as often as I have in previous years. No membership this year, and hopefully two jobs so I can pay for this darned university!
My useless education's getting in the way of my valuable golfing time. Grrr...
Should be able to play the first weekend of April though, depending on snowfall. It is supposed to be 60 degrees this weekend, so the courses should be in good shape for the following weekend, as long as we don't get more snow.

Two alternative quotes about going to college to get a degree:
"You think education is expensive . . . Try ignorance"
and
"Don't let college get in the way of your education"
not playing nearly as much as i was last year at this time. only getting in 1 maybe 2 rounds a week here lately, opposed to 3-7 times a week last year. we got 8" of snow last night, it was so bad i called into work because i didn't want to drive 20mph for the 30miles to work. anyways... temperaturs are supposed to be in the 50s this weekend so hopefully that'll get rid of the snow and i'll be able to get out there again soon.
