I won the long drive!

Played a scramble last Friday at Eaglewood in North Salt Lake City. The 8 am shotgun start was delayed because of the weather. Regardless, we started an hour late and it rained on us for the first three or four holes. The rain stopped for awhile and then came back for the last few holes. My group started on 4 so 3 was our finishing hole and one of the two long drive holes. 3 plays up hill as a slight dog leg right par 5. We caught up to the group ahead of us and decided to play our last (their second to last hole) together. My tee shot was last of the 8 - bombed a 305 yards shot uphill in the wet grass. Heard a guy in the background ask one of my partners "Been riding that horse all day?". Sadly, that was not the case. I think the key was I took my jacket off - I do not like swinging with a jacket. That shot put us at the 225 mark and another member put a nice 3 wood within 12 feet. We eagled that hole for a final round of 63. 12 pars, 4 birdies, and 2 eagles - with several missed birdie chances. Anyway, that shot was worth $50 in the proshop and a little bragging rights.

Nice drive.....I played in a scramble a couple weeks ago and they gave the long drive winner.....you guessed it.....a new driver. If the guy is winning long drives wouldn't you think he is pretty happy with the driver he has?

That always amazes me. Why not a new putter or wedge or somthign.

Congrats on the win.

Wow, congrats!
I'm never comfortable swinging with a jacket on - I always feel like it bunches up on me. Of course, I have lots of excuses for my poor swings.

We have had so much rain here in the North East I finally invested in some good Mizuno rain gear - it is cut very well but the nicest feature is that the sleeve snap off just below the elbow.
