You know whats even better? Lightning golf nothing like risking your life by playing in an electrical storm. Not really worried about the score just surviving.

i've been here also , but not often. in the south, they can pop up quickly in the afternoon. fortunately, most of my golf is in the mornings.

We would have a few days like this in the year.... most people are absolutely dire on such a day!

I played one day in Jan this year that we had 30mph winds with 45mph gust temp was about 40. Had to be the worst weather I have ever played in, I shot 20 strokes over my normal score that day.

I played the Links of Nags Head vacationing in NC in '96 the day before Bertha ran us out of town. That was fun, but not as fun as playing in the surf later before it got too dangerous.

Never played in 40 mph winds, but it's not unusual for us to have 20-25 mph winds on a clear day here in Houston. It really bites trying to hit a drive on a long par 5 into a 25 mph wind. On the flip side, I hit a 5w 285 yards and a 3w 298 yards when the wind was with me a few weeks ago.
