South Carolina cause I used to live there
North Carolina cause my grandpa goes on a golfing trip there every year
Florida cause I hear it is good.
Georgia because of Augusta
And Illinois because it is the only actual state I have played golf
South Carolina is definitely close, if not at the top. Alabama is nice with the RTJ Golf trail. Florida has some amazing courses as well. But you also can't forget a state with golf like California. My vote still goes for the beautiful Palmetto state, Smiling Faces, Beautiful Places...
Winter season aside, I really like golf here in Ohio. There are lots of courses and many of them aren't the "community" kind with houses lining every fairway. They're typically in excellent condition and the pricing is very low (around $1/hole, sometimes less.) Even our municipal courses are excellent quality.
Again, excluding winter, the weather is usually very tolerable and rarely too hot or humid. Spring through fall, it's usually 65-85 degrees during the day.
As I noted on the other thread, you've got to put Georgia at or near the top. We've got Augusta National, Peachtree GC, Atlanta Athletic Club, East Lake.
1. California for the amount of great courses there.
2. Ohio same and Nicklaus is from there
3. Arizona bcause you can play there year round if heat isn't an issue, also, many great courses
4. Florida many great courses
5. New York
The best state is where ever you're playing at the moment. I like California because that's where I live and there are hundreds of choices and I get to play year round. Nothing like playing on Christmas. Still, I'm sure it's just as fun to play in any other state. Hawaii is nice, usually an ocean view to go along with a great layout.
Florida - plenty of courses, and you can golf all year
South Carolina - Myrtle Beach, y'all!
Alabama - That there Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail!
Texas - Plenty of great courses, not to mention more pretty women per capita than anywhere else!
Colorado - Even Funk can hit it over 300 yards here!
SC, NC, FL, NY and So. Ontario are the only places i have played, SC is the best, NY is by far the worst, Ontario has some great courses, but liek everythng else in Canada, they are exspensive.
