The conditions where a bit dry and bouncy and every ball i had landed on the green just bounced straight off so I took a club up and hit it softer to roll up to the green. It stopped about a foot short on the apron and I grabbed my putter and just hit it hoping to get it close. Hardly aimed atall. I was urging the ball to keep rolling when sudenly it dropped in the hole
Considering my cards are normally full of 2 or 3 overs I was a very happy chappy
Also hit the drive of my life but it was just a practise hit for fun after my round (a round of awful drives btw)

is what its all about!! Being in an outdoor park/course with your buddies, listening to the birds, smelling the flowers, not thinking about work or how how to pay your mortgage, actually hitting the ball where you wanted it to go for a change, feeling the adrenaline rush when the ball is still a few feet from the hole but is tracking right at it, and then, the ball dives into the cup!!! Holy cow, what a deal. I have a first that might happen this morning. My daughter is 18 and an avid golfer. She has never beaten me. We try and play Presidio in San Diego on Saturday mornings. It is in Old Town San Diego and is the purest little course in the world. Longest hole is maybe 50 yards. Anyway, two weeks ago I went 6 under to tie my best round and my kid went 3 under to beat her previous best score (plus 2) by 5 strokes. We are playing this morning and she went to bed extra early last night with the words--"You're going down tomorrow old man." This very well may the inevitable day where she finally beats me for the first time. I'm gonna fight like heck though.
thanks for all the comments guys
HEy 76bearsfly, what happened the other day? Did your daughter show up her ol' man or did you manage to fend of the young upstart for another round??
