me...xtra stiff???

I am playing in the high 90s always ..
was taking lessons with my pro.. focusing on irons only and my body movement ..

my irons are regular btw.. one fine day , i showed my coach my regular shafted driver ..and he says.. " ur irons are steel shafts regulars that plays like a stiff graphite.. your swing is becoming more and more powerful ... . in 6 mths time , you will be at the level to use X shafted driver... please don't use this driver.. your driver must match your irons ... ".

i was like .."me ? extra stiff? where do i get the swing speed from ? isn't those for pros only ? "

so .. i borrowed my boss's driver.. a ben hogan with stiff Adila 70gram shaft that he won from a tournament (you can have it if you like it ... he says ) and suddenly , my drives were booming straight and far ... with a ball flight that was scary to me .. the type that starts off low but continue to rise and rise ..

my last two rounds were in the low 90s .(91 and 92s) . If my short game and putting was more accurate..i'll be breaking 90 soon ...

what a difference a few sentences a learned coach make can change your game.. now i know the importance of swing monitor and getting correctly fitted shafts for your game.. .

i might not go to X shaft ..but who knows... cheers

Did they clock your swing speed any? I was at 110 average for driver and 89 for 6 iron. Clubmaker has me at the middle of stiff and X stiff for irons , and x for driver, and its only 44 1/2". Good luck with your game in the future, 90 will be pretty easy to break everytime once you master how to control your game.
