Changing my grip....

Due to age,(66), and loss of hand strength, I began working with a 10 finger (baseball) grip today. Not too bad as right hand seems strong enough to maybe become more effective. Left hand and fingers seemed better after a bucket, than before.

Anyone done this change before? Never tried it when I was young.

You and I are close to the same age with some of the same problems, you may want to try the following it does take a bit of getting use to but works for me. The following was a grip used by Gene Sarazen, using the interlock grip place the thumbs around the grip of the club in place of on top or side of the grip. This works for me when I am having trouble with soreness and stiffness in the hands it may not work for everyone but maybe worth a try. I have tried to use the baseball style grip but do not have good control with the driver.

10-finger grip works well for people with relatively small hands. I use it and it works for me. Place the hands close together, and you will probably be fine.

I went to the 10 finger grip for a year in the mid-80's to reduce the stress on my left index finger which had been dislocated. It worked very well from the start and my handicap stayed at scratch or better the entire year.

Thanks for the replies. I worked on a few rangeballs with trusty PW today,
and then hit a few 5I and 4Wood shots. Different feel but shots went pretty well overall.

Thanks again!

I used the baseball grip for the first five years that I played...I have just recently reached the level that I was when I made the switch...it works...
