Vacation golf schools...

Has anyone any experience with these combination resort/golf academys? Seems like a good way to spend a weekend...there are several around the area, packages include spa treatments for the wife, accomodations, greens fees, range and on course instruction, simulator time and video lessons...just wondering if it is the golfing wonderland it appears to be or is it more like standing in line at the bank?

I wanted to do the school thing, but timing was a problem. So I called out to a golf service in Tucson and said "set up two lessons and three rounds for me."

One pro was great, the other was so-so on the range but did help my putting. And the rounds were fun.

I will do a school some day just to try it, but here's the thing...I wanted specific help on two things, and I got it. My vision of a school is to look at everything and give yourself the time (5 to 7 days of at least 18 holes) to make it work.

Sounds like paradise, but it also a lot of work to get your money's worth.
