Golf Courses in Irving, TX

Hi there,

Anyone care to recommend golf courses in Irving, TX? I am going to Dallas on a biz trip and plan on playing a round on Sunday. I will be staying at a hotel in Irving but can travel a bit to play as well.

Thanks for any advice,

Golfilitis

Try the Dallas Cowboy's Golf Club located in near by Grapevine. Is it is actually owned by the team and team memorabilia (like Vince Lombardi Trophies ) are on display. Perfect for the sports fan.
It is (I believe) open to the public. Click the link below to see.

I am in Irving right now on business and was just at the TPC Las Colinas. Its where the TOUR plays the Byron Nelson. Very nice.

Hi again,

We played the Riverchase Golf Club near Irving (don't know if it actually is in Irving) and it was fairly good. Pretty narrow (the course has villas and apartment complexes around it) and with a fair bit of water. Fast greens and lush fairways. I shot 12 over par with rented clubs, which is pretty good for my 18 handicap.

Riverchase is actually in the fair city of Coppell, near Irving. I hope you enjoyed your overall stay in DFW. Come back anytime.

You may have been talking about Riverside GC in Grand Prairie. I believe that course has water on like 13 out of 18 holes. It is surrounded by apartments, heck my friend lives in one of the apartments.

Next time try the Grapevine Municipal Course that is closer to DFW Airport than Riverchase. It is much more interesting (trees, rolling terrain) and less expensive.

If you don't mind driving a bit farther, Tour 18 (I think in Flower Mound) is one of the local's favorites. Played there once, very memorable round. Otherwise, definitely go play at Cowboys. Price is quite steep, but a friend of mine says it's worth every penny.

I'm not sure if u can play at TPC. I went there twice to watch Byron Nelson this year and last year. Also went there 2 years ago to accompany my friend in a charity tournament held by my alumni association, I didn't play, just watched, $250 for a round is too much for me, I paid $35 for the luncheon and a free cart ride courtesy of the association to tag along the whole round. Nice course, but I think u need to be a hotel guest to play.

Welcome to Big D.
Happy Golfin'!
