FRONT TEE's

I just replied to a great thread called BACK TEE's and just started wondering something.

I play both the Blue's and the White Tee's, and my score is pretty close equal in both cases.

Has anyone ever played from the Front tee's (Red's/ladies or Yellow/thats our senior tees) that usually plays from the whites or blues?

Not sure that I would ever try it... but it would be interesting to know if anyone has tried it and has scored better than they usually would? And how much was the improvment?

Just a though...

I don't know why you would want to but I'm sure I could score better hitting irons on in one on short par 4's. No real point in it though.

At 66 I have played the reds with some 70 plus guys. Guess I may play them more as time slows me down. Still takes a short game. (Played Blues today ...post to follow)

I don't play the front tees unless I might go out with the purpose to hit a couple balls on each hole to practice, but I think it is good for you game to do this. You hit different clubs into the green then you normally would have, so you work your whole bag. When I play a few courses around here that are our regular ones, I know what I'm hitting for every single shot and there are a few clubs I rarely take out of my bag. Hitting from different tees allows you to use your whole bag. It's not much different as far as score is concerned either. There would have to be a very big difference between the back tees and the front ones for a score to really show it.

Once in a while I play the red tees with one of the course marshals and his wife. We play very fast and can finish 18 in just over 2 hours if we have the first tee time in the morning. They are fun to play with and I run into some different shots than normal. It's also fun to go way under par on the front and then try to hold it or go even lower on the back nine.

Are you kidding? If you want to see a group of four men get mad enough to attack you with golf clubs, just suggest they move up to a forward tee. You might as well question their manhood...

I have played from the front tees a few times with friends who do play from there. I usually put up the driver, and work on other parts of my game. It's really pretty fun. It would be embarrasing to use the driver and not score any better.
