practicing short game in the yard game

my afternoon classes were cancelled today so I got home early and had nothing to do. I figured i'd mess around with my 60* wedge in the yard for a bit so I grabbed one of those wiffle practice balls. I was just chipping in the front yard aiming for leaves when I had a brilliant idea. I have a front lawn, 2 side lawns, and a back lawn. Why not chip over trees, fences, bushes, and whatnot to the other lawns with chipping buckets on them? I even made "holes" for the course. ie. front lawn to left side lawn, back lawn to left lawn to front lawn, etc. HAHA, this was the most fun i've had practicing with one of those wiffle balls. Soon enough I was bouncing the ball off the siding and even over the house lol.

I play full rounds of golf in my yard! I've set up an eight hole course that runs all the way around my house. I start in certain spots and chip from object to object and actually keep score (par is 18 ).

I've got tons of trees in my backyard so I work on my "recovery" shots even though I always play from the fairway

My wife and I used to play around the house, we had 4 holes set up, and par set for each hole. Two holes wrapped around the house and had to clear a fence. I used to tick her off when I'd take it over the house with a plastic ball for eagle on the long hole. It is funny what we'll do when we can't get to the course!

i dont have enough grass in my yard to set up holes but i do go up to the local preschool that somehow needs a footbal field and baseball field so i loosen up some of the diamond sand and put a bucket 20, 30, and 40 yards away and hit long bunker shots into them because thats what the golf courses fairway sand is like and then i chip and pitch shots from the enzone up to 65 yards away then i start to hit almost full and full shots within 10 feet of my target (bucket) and i holed out once!!! fun stuff...

I used to do this as well until I realized the damage I was doing to the field...I hit foam balls in my apartment into the drapes...not as much fun but beats sitting on the couch...

70 yrd Par 2 in my BY... imaginary hole ... but it helps out in the short game!!!

I also hit foam balls inside during the winter months...if nothing else, it keeps the swing loose & free....
