Plane Truth

I just purchased Jim Hardy's Plane Truth CD's, found that I do better with Two Plane swing. I tried the One Plane swing just couldn't get the hang of it. Jim says that the One Plane swing is easier on your back although I don't have any problem with my back in the Two Plane swing. If I swing down to my right foot as on the CD I can hit the ball very well, it's going to take a lot of practice for me to make it a habit. Old habits are hard to break. Has any one else had good success with Jim Hardy's teaching?

From what I have read, this "method" is nothing new. He appears to make a distinction between two swings and that "tips" are specific to one method versus another. As long as one particular method works I think you should stick with it. I have personally experimented with what feels comfortable.

The one plane appears to be synonmyous with a Modern Swing or Leverage Swing.

I initially learned with a 2 plane method. After reading the book, I tried the 1 plane and found that my shots are longer and I tend to draw the ball.

I started another thread on this earlier this week.

One Plane vs Two Plane

In it, I posted an article that I found on Golf Digest's website. I too think that I am more of one plane swinger with two plane tendencies. I will experiment with it this winter.
