Peachtree

Hi,
Does anyone have any photos of peachtree golf club in atlanta - the one designed by bobby jones and robert trent jones and opened about 50 years ago...? I can't find any photos anywhere on the net? Would be interesting to see the course intended by jones to replace augusta incase his friends thought augusta was too far away to travel to!

There is a new course just outside of Big A in Douglasville that appears to be a beautiful course from the highway. It's located in back of Wal*Mart and Sam's club.

Peachtree is currently under major renovation ...

... when they finish it, it will be unbelievable. It is very comparable to Augusta National and about as difficult to gain membership. The best part about Peachtree (aside from the golf course) is the locker room. It literally has not changed since Jones was a member there. No oak lockers - the lockers literally look like they came from my high school football locker room (all metal). They also still have Bobby Jones locker just like it was left when he died. They also have a special wing of the locker room that is dedicated solely to the senior executives of The Coca-Cola Company that are members there. The place is as much a museum as it is a golf course. You Literally feel like you have gone back in time to the WWII era. It is probably the most unique place in the U.S. in terms of golf.

I have been very fortunate to have a friend that takes me out there once a year.

Yeah, the clubhouse is the best part.
