I've never broken 80, but my lowest scores (83's and 84's) have been due to a high up-n-down percentage. However, part of the reason I made more up and downs could have been that when I missed the GIR, I was still on the fringe and not chipping over bunkers and having to make miraculous up-n-downs.

Re: how to break 80

you guys are right, its definetly putting, im one of the best ball strikers i know, but i usually shoot 90. Why?, because I three putt 12 out of the 18 holes, now if i take out all the 3 putts, its a 78, putting is what i have to work on, i three put from 25 feet sometimes.
Anyone got putting drills they used that worked wonders for them, i sure could use them.
