Just wondering how often players here go to the driving range to practice. I go at least 3 times a week. I need to actually hit balls so I can't practice at home (I like to get feedback on my swing).
I haven't been to the driving range in about a month. Once it got cold, I just haven't had the motivation, and I've been pretty busy so I haven't gone back. I don't like having these days where you go to work in the dark and come home in the dark, on a normal 8-5 job.
When I lived in Atlanta I went 2 or 3 times per week.
Now that I live in Louisiana 35 miles north of New Orleans I go 0.
I wish we had a driving range.
Ohhh..... we have a driving range just 10 min from house but the lady that runs the place only show up when she feels like.
Once March comes around and the season is about to start, I'll go about twice a week. It lets me make sure my swing is in order for when the courses start opening. Through April and May, I'll still go about once per week. However, June through September, I rarely go at all. I usually play 3 times a week so there isn't much spare time remaining to practice.
Although, normally, if the course I am playing has a range, I will practice and warm up before the round.
My golf club membership includes unlimited range balls, so I go every time I am at the course if I have the time. Given the choice between hitting balls and actually playing, I will normally opt to play. I do hit a bucket before I play on the weekends and occassionally hit some after the round if I have something going on really bad in my swing.

I usually go once or twice before the season starts here just to find my swing after the winter. Other than that, never... unless I have a particular issue I'm trying to figure out. This past year I was pulling my irons so I hit a couple of buckets working that out. I have a large mowed field behind my house and hundreds of shag balls. I can hit as many , as far as I want out there for free, but I rarely parctice anything other than short irons and wedges there.
I go a couple times a week...the weather's been fairly chilly, in the 40's around 7:00pm (yeah I know, but it's chilly for so cal), so I have a hard time getting motivated to get over there after work. I went last night and it was 42* outside. Plus our range is mats only, which I can't stand.
During the summer months, I hardly ever hit the range...there's enough light left when I get home from work that I just head down to the course to practice / play.
Very seldom during the warm season - I would rather play first like C-tech. But when it's cold (like now) I'll go to a range with heated tees maybe once a week. Looks like I'll be there this Saturday, my bro-n-law wants me to teach him the basics of the game...hahaha, so I'll take him with me.
I do enjoy practicing though. I'll usually take my shag bag full of old balls, again weather permitting, and hit in an open field area maybe 3 times a week when I'm not on the golf course.
I go to the range once every week, week and a half, I guess. I go to the putting green and putt at least twice a week. Chip 50 or so balls a couple of times a week, and go to a little pitching green (40-70 yds) a couple of times a week...all usually on the same day.
Like Ctech, my membership gives me range access 365 days. A jumbo basket is about 220 balls. All new balls every season, sometimes renewed twice. Club is currently using Pinnacle range balls Pretty regular for me to hit jumbo basket 3 days a week. Also hit small bucket as warm up for play the other three days. We're lucky, we get sun almost every day (cold this morning tho) and can hit balls, putt or play at will. I really like being a range rat and totally enjoy the practice green late in the afternoon. Keeps me off the streets and out of trouble.
