I'm new to these forums and haven't said much; however I have been browsing them since I joined....anyways I just had to share this weekends experience with you.
This is the first year I have actually taken golf seriously and played more than once every 6 months. I was at the local Club course on a par 4. I had a pretty good drive off the tee, that put me about 30 yards out from the green, which was at about a 8ft incline leading to the green. So normally I would get out the SW and try to get it close right....however there is a tree right in front of me, leaving a foot or so of a clear shot to the pin.
Now that the air is taken out of the equation from the hanging branches, I pull out the 7 to try a little bump and run onto the green. I struck it perfectly (wich is unusual for my game) and it one hopped onto the green.
Then like slow motion, almost as if it was magnetized, it starts running right at the pin. Holy @$#% this has a chance. As the ball got closer to the hole, I hear 2 guys on the next tee yelling the infamous "
GET IN THE HOLE", by this point I couldn't see the hole, however their cheers let me know that I had not only holed it, but also made my first eagle

Luckily my wife/flag puller saw the whole thing also, or else my friends would never believe me.
Side note: Lost the eagle ball in the water on the following hole
Any body else have a good weekend?
