Anything to remove rust ??

Just got my clubs out of the garage from storage and there is a large amount of rust on the sole of my 7 iron.

Can I buy anything at the hardware store to remove this? What else works?

Some rubbing compound should do tht trick. If you don't have that available to you, try some Coca-cola. That works just as well. If its real deep rust, which I don't think it should be, it will be very hard to get all of it off. If its just surface rust thats a piece of cake. I'm curious as to why theres that much rust on the bottom of just one club? Hope this helps.

Get yourself some "CLR" (at walmart or home depot) and a plastic scruby pad.
Truuuuuust me on this.... You'll have those clubs shining in no time.

Yeah, I also hear Coke will remove rust. Just let it soak for a while and that does the trick.

Soak it in white vinegar...bubbles the rust off in a few hours and is environmentally friendly.

I use Nevr-Dull by Eagle One. It's available at most any automotive store. It removes rust, and polishes.
Great stuff for the chrome on your motorcycle too.

Try WD40

I noticed a little rust on my new irons last year. I was washing my clubs but not drying them completely. So now after washing my clubs, I spray the blades with WD40. Problem solved.

A lot of guys don't clean their clubs regularly. But I have have found that the grips really benefit from being washed (it de-greases them and restores their "stickyness"). Plus clean clubs simply look better. At least if I can't play good -- my clubs can look good!

On the other hand, if your clubs are getting on in years, rust may just be the omen you need to signal it's time to be fitted for new clubs.

This does work great, I use this on my car's stainless steel exhaust and it makes it shine like a mirror. Very inexpensive too.
