Did anyone play yesterday? I did, it was the first really warm sunny spring day here in the Okanogan. I didn’t play well at all; my putting on the front 9 was horrible. (21 Putts) I had four 3 putts. Now our greens on the front are in pretty good shape for early season. So I can’t blame anything on the greens. It was all me, I couldn’t get the line, the weight anything. The only one putt I had was inside 10 ft.
So off we go to the back nine. As I mentioned the other day our greens on the back are in really rough shape. The worst I’ve seen in the spring. That being said I can honestly say they cost me only 2 strokes, good putts that on good greens would have dropped. Get this, I took 15 putts on the back, I had four 1 putts, no 3 putts, one birdie putt which I made, an eagle putt on #18 which I ran past the hole and made the come backer. So go figure!! I’ve been trying to analyze it, and I guess knowing the shape the greens were in on the back, I wasn’t expecting much. So I just tried to strike the ball firmly to get it through all the moguls and keep it online. It worked. I guess if us mere mortals could figure out this wonderful game of golf, we would be playing at Augusta this weekend!
