What an end to a round...

Right I went out today to just get my short game back to normal.

What a round it turned out to be, I bogeyed the first two holes and then stuck a 5 iron to about 2 inches on a par 4 to get back to 1, I then doubled the par 3 after not hitting the chip hard enough and rolling back to me

I then went par and another bogey to finish the first 9, 4 over.

Right I then took another bogey and was at my handicap (5) after 12 holes. I then approach the par 5, 14th and Hit a long, straight yard drive and have a 5 iron in and stick it to about 30 ft.

Low and behold I sink the putt for eagle and get back to 3 over, then I par'ed the next par 3. The next is a short par 4, driveable. I pick out a 3 wood and aim at a spot, but hit it pin high to the right of the green around 30 yards away, I played a chip along the bank as it rolls downhill, it keeps rolling and it rolls in for another eagle!!

So, so far I've gone Eagle, par, eagle and am currently at 1 over.

I go onto the 17th and boom another down the middle and have about 105 in and hit a soft gap wedge and stick it to about 10 ft. I spend a while over the putt then hit it and sink it for a birdie!!

I am now even after, eagle, par, eagle, birdie.

The 18th, if you hit it right can be an absolutely huge drive, I hit my best drive at the last and the hole is 427 yards long and I pitched it on the downslope and it runs and runs and runs... I look for my ball about 100 yards back where it usually is, but no it has gone even further and gone near the green side bunker! Thats unbelievable, over a 400 yard drive!! I love Warm, hard ground conditions

Right I hit a soft chip into a hill and it rolls past to about 10 foot. I hit the putt and sink it for another birdie! Thats 6 under in 5 holes! I turned a bad round into a -1 for a 69, with my handicap off a Nett 64.

I forgot to mention I was with a partner playing doubles matchplay for fun and we were 4 down at one point, and we won 2 and 1 in the end, gotta love the look on their face

I thought Id share this with you anyway Probably my best run of golf I've ever had, stuff Tigers made of Was great fun.

Nice going Carlgolf! When I saw the title of the thread I figured you had triple-bogied the last hole to miss your personal best by 1 stroke, or something like that, but I was quite happy to read about a positive ending instead!

Wow. 1 under for the round and 6 under for 5 holes? I thought finishing my round birdie-birdie was a hot streak but that's amazing. Congratulations!

So, how did you feel after? Did you want to go back out and play more or did you have enough for the day?

I went back out and practiced my chipping and putting, which was my bad part on the front 9.

Thanks for the comments

The short game is by far the most important part of golf...the lowest round i have had is a 74 in which i had four birdies on the front nine...(two chip-ins) and had one birdie on the backnine....but your round beats mine by a long shot!!! great round bud!!!
