I have a qualifier 1 week from today..

How should I prepare? It's a pretty big qualifier.. the top 12 get spots in the biggest junior tourney in SC. What should I focus on? How much time should I spend on each part of my game?

I would suggest spending 75% of your time on the short game: putting, chipping, pitching, all from a variety of lies. And good luck!

putting and finding the fairway from the tee. that might mean irons, 3 woods and 5 woods from the box instead of driver. Tournament play is very different, espc in a big qualifier like this sounds like. I can pound the driver, but its not reliable under pressure compared to my 3 wood. So when im feeling the heat/pressure i know i can find the fairway around 280yds with the 3 wood. Dont let ego bump you out of the top 12 and don't let bogeys turn into doubles and triples. When your in trouble find the fastest way back to the norm. Dont think you can clear that 30ft tree with a 4 iron when your 15 feet away from it..... Good luck hope it turns out for you.

Do you knwo the course the qualifier is on well? If not, I would try to practice at the course a bit more to get to know it. Good luck!

Good luck. Just work on the mental game...don't let a bad shot affect your attitude too much and put it behind you...don't take any risks that aren't worth taking...go for the middle of the green and take your pars and a birdie every now and then.

Play the course of the qualifier if possible. If you don't have time or it happens to be private, call the course and ask if you can putt on their greens just to get distance control down. The course probably won't have any problem with it.
