The Shank.

Right, so, I often introduce the shank into my game, unexpectedly of course, and once I shank one, I shank repetetively.

Just wondering, anyone else often/ever shanked a ball, and if so, what sort of feelings went through your head?

Be honest. We all *%^& ourselves once we see one leak out from the neck of the club!

Re: The Shank.

When I'm hitting the ball really well, I'll occasionally shank one. No joke. It's just the little bad habit I have with my hands at setup that causes it. It really frustrates me because I'll be knocking down flags, then shank a shot. lol

Re: The Shank.

I find I usually shank the ball on less than full shots. I don't know what the reason for that is but it's very frustrating because if you're taking a shot that is less than full, you're probably not that hard from the hole.

Re: The Shank.

went to the range at a golf shop a few months ago to test out some clubs i was thinking about buying........well, i started off hitting them beautifully.......i mean crisp, perfect golf shots(or as perfect as i can get, lol)...........then i decided to work the ball a little.....tried drawing a few, then fading a few.....still looked great and i was getting really excited by this point, started thinking these clubs were going to bring my handicap WAY down........then i try to go back to hitting them straight......LOL, a huge case of the shanks hit me.....i mean, barely making out of my stall, shanks......15 yard scorchers straight right shanks...........people started looking over at me and i couldn't stop.........lol, i couldn't even chip one w/o shanking........ahhhhh, it was ugly.......i finally just let my friend, who was laughing so hard he had tears in eyes, hit the rest of the bucket........next day at the range i was fine, and i haven't shanked one since.........but boy did it scare me
