project x HL vs non project x rifle shaft

I went to talk to my local pro shop's fitter/pro about swiching shafts to a set of rifles because I like the feel. Before things got to far along I ask him what the difference between the project x and theproject x HL was. He said the HL's perform more like the regular non project x rifles. He told me at my flex(5.5) they would play the same and save me about 12 bucks a shaft. He had both and said he would be able to have them for me by next weekend. Since he is a lot more qualified and I didn't see a real reason to spend the extra money I am getting the 5.5 regular rifles. Does anyone know of a major difference between the shafts? I am not second guessing at all I have complete faith in this fitter I am just curious what the deal is. Is the project x just marketing?
