Must have been amazing to have been there. It was an amazing tournement for Padrig, and his son is cute as heck. With some Irish blood in my veins, I know I was pulling for Padrig today. Watching Padrig put that first ball in the burn was worse than watching the Steelers lose a Super Bowl. I can't even describe what I thought when he did it again.
It was a great win. I also can't help but to wonder how meaningful (in so many ways) it is to Padraig and all of Ireland for an Irishman to win "The British Open". Of course Sergio winning at the time Seve retired would have also been great. Sergio is still young and has plenty of time for major wins. It was just a great tournament. Maybe the best of the year?
