Teaching Pro Certification

I'm beginning the process of being certified as a teaching pro, and my first step is to choose a golf school.

I ordered a kit from the USTGF, but I'd like some more options, partly because the USTGF requires 2 rounds averaging 84 or less on a regulation course, a total score of 168 or less, for my age group, and I'm not sure I can do that.

For one thing, I play in a part of Pennsylvania where the fairways and greens are soft and in great shape, bunkers have a subtle presence, and the weather is pleasant. For the USTGF, I think I would have to play either in Port Lucie, Florida, or somewhere in Arizona.

Those conditions would be very, very different from what I'm used to, and I'm afraid that I would spend a lot of money for nothing.

So, if there are other possibilities for a well-respected golf school, please let me know.

From what I know about USGTF, they hold their classes throughout the country. Your score must be at the course where you attend the classes. So unless the only options available within your current timeframe are PSL or Arizona, I would think they would hold classes closer to your locale.

You just missed the one in Gettysburg, PA July 21-26 but they do have offerings this month in Canton, OH and in September in Maryland.
