Re: TAYLOR MADE LGC IRONS

I'm actually playing a set right now. I picked up a set of Ping G5's last night though. I'm going to play them tomorrow and see how they do, and I'm going to sell one of the two sets. I have no complaints out of my LCG's. They have the R-80 shafts. I've only played like 12 rounds with them since I got them new. (I was out of the game for a while). I hit mine fairly long. I was carrying my pitching wedge about 125-130 at the range recently, and my swing is nothing like it used to be. Hopefully these Ping's will play even better.

Re: TAYLOR MADE LGC IRONS

I demoed a set years ago.....The jacked up lofts combined with rifle shafts go a LLLLLLOOOOOONNNNNNNGGGG way. I hit the 44* PW stiff to just over 152yds, with a one club breeze behind me on the first hole at Hunter's Glen G&C.(formerly Huntington G&C). I have 44* clubs in different sets now....they are called 9 irons. Rifled shafts add nearly 10 yds to anything I hit. I hit a buddy's traditional lofted 44* 9 iron reshafted about 140-145 yds. If I was in Texas or Scotland, they may just be the ticket with their lower ball flight required most of the time. Now I just play the ball further back in my stance if I want to hit it lower or further with my clubs.

I would have to have carried 4 wedges in the bag. 44*,48*,52*, and 56*

I figured that with rifle shafts in everything my SW would go about 110. This would be great if I plus 6800 yd courses. But 6500 yds is about the maximum that I enjoy playing. Golf should not be an ordeal.
