What is this golf shopping habit?

I feel this terrible urge to go out and buy some piece of golf equipment or accessory. It's been almost a month since I've bought anything. I'm well stocked on balls, tees, have all the clubs I need and am happy with them. I suppose one could always use a golf shirt.

This is bizarre I tell you. I've never had the desire to go out and buy stuff with any other endeavour other than golf. When they say it's an addicting sport, they aren't kidding.

No need for confessions - it's perfectly normal. Of course you need another shirt, probably a new glove too and another pair of shoes. You can't ever have enough shoes. If I play a new course, I always buy a new outfit. Makes me feel good.

Buy the clubs through eBay and save yourself a ton of money. At least your disease won't be as painful.

Spend money on improving your physical (exercises) and mental skills (books) and then finally on equipment (get fitted for the right equip), but it sounds like it may be too late to save your golf soul.

You are not alone in this affliction, every so often the urge to splurge hits you and you just have to act on it.

Yeah, it seems that no matter how many dozen are laying around at home unopened, there's always the urge for more golf balls.

Re: What is this golf shopping habit?

When I have such an urge, I usually go talk with the wife. After several long uninterupted minutes of profanity, the urge is gone. This is not a two way street however. When my wife gets a similar urge for a purse, she shops first and hopes I never see the FedEx box.
