i took a 30 minute lesson at golf galaxy and the video, along with the pro, made such a huge difference in my game overnight! on the video I could see exactly why I was struggeling with my irons. someone telling you what you are doing wrong and actually seeing it are two different things. I now have a mental image burned in my mind and can actually catch myself falling back into the same bad swing mode. My iron game has improved so much after that video lesson. I have shaved several strokes off my game because i am now more consistent with my approach shots. Now it's time to concentrate on my short chips and bunkers. I am confident that i am now on the right track to consistently shoot in the low 90's. I can't wait for spring!
I strongly recommend lessons and would find a pro that uses video feedback ...it will make a difference.

Were you able to take just 1 lesson at Golf Galaxy? I talked to them last spring, and I thought they required a multi lessons package.

I take my laptop and webcam with me to the driving range sometimes.
So I can hit 2-3 balls, step back, have a look at the video and see, what's wrong...
To me, nothing is better than to get direct visual feedback after the swing.
I agree, I took video lessons and they helped me quite a bit. I video tape my swing with my digital camera all the time so I can see what I am doing right and wrong. My game has improved as a result.
the golf galaxy near my house is running a special with the video lesson..$30 for 3o minutes . for an additional $ amount they can email the video to you.
i have often thought about videoing myself, but I would have probably not caught the things I was doing wrong. the pro knows exactly what to look for and even compared my swing to several player on the PGA. he even showed me how no two players swing "perfect" on the PGA tour. he did not try to fit me to a swing, yet adjusted the swing to my style. my scores have already dropped and i feel more confident when facing my approach shots.
Golftec has video lessons too. they made me strap on measuring devices which shows the angles of different parts of your bodies at any one time. i agree that taking lessons from them have given me the knowledge of what I need to work on.
however having the knowledge is one part, the other is to fix it and groove it until it is automatic.
i use david leadbetter swing setter for that. it has given me great help is grooving my swing, esp the back swing, and the extension thru impact and release.
I was shooting 100+ and sometimes 90's for a while.
Read the book, golf not a game of perfect.
And since then I am always shooting low 90's and within the last few weeks hitting 80's.
People say golf is played mostly in the head. I didn't really understand what that means. But lately I realized that it is hundred percent true. When I swing confidently, I swing in rhythm, smooth fluid motion, just like my practice swings, just like driving range. But when I go play, I am always tensing up, slowing down on the down swing, not releasing the hand, which cause all sorts of problems.
