For all you fellow golfers, I just came across a post talking about the new site design for the "golf channel", so I thought I would take a look at it to see what they did. Well, to my surprise I saw an almost exact replica of my site NCGolfers!

The Page layout, Margins and Padding are all the "exact" same figures, Logo's and and blocks in the same place... even the way there articles and info is laid out is the same!

I cannot believe that a large company like this would need to rip off my design, which I put over 4 months of work into...

The sad thing is they even advertise on my site in the bottom footer and have been for a half a year, maybe that's where they got the idea from...

I've wrote them an email, but this is somewhat of a copy right infringement on design...

I would speak with a copyright/patent infringement attorney. They do look similar, and since they were already familiar with your site...

Well, i've tried contacting them through email, but no luck, I don't want to fork out money to an attorney either, but I would at least like a link back to my site acknowledging their work was derived from mine..

Nice site! I see plenty similarities, but personally I am not absolutely convinced that it was a copy / ripoff. And, if nothing else, it validates your design.

I dont think its an exact copy of your site, both sites look like a basic standard layout. When a web designer makes a site I dont think that they would rip another sites page. I mean thats what they do for a living and probably made hundreds of pages for various sites.

And I have to say that it's good to get second opinions, cause what I see could be totally different from what you guys see.

I'm thinking based off the responses that, Yes there are similarities, but No not enough to say it's infringed upon...

I guess, when you design something, you know it in and out Therefore, I see more than others :)

really not all that similar. There are a ton of templates out there that are going to create these minor freak outs, but they really didn't infringe your design

This is true... I guess I freaked out because they're such a well known site, and I wouldn't won't people in the Future thinking I was trying to be a copy cat... ya know...

But, I am feeling alot better now with non-bias opinions...

If your website had been my website, I might have felt the same way, or I might not have: I do not know! There is no way of telling without actually being in the same situation that you are in!

Entire post seems like a thin veil for NCGolfers advertising on this board...clever...

Ha, good one but I think not... This board wouldn't give me no where near the traffic I get organically, What I just might get 5 people a day if that... ha, I get 1,500 to 2,000 a day organic, sorry pal, but 5 peeps a day i could care less!

I don't see it. I think your site looks more like SI.com or CBSSportsline.com than the new golf channel site.
