Hi I have some NIKE shoes from last year with the Q-Lock spikes from CHAMP in them... They came in there factory...Now I cant get any out, and I dont have a spike wrench...I got one out with a needle nose pliers but had no clue how I got it to come out...Does anyone have any tips/Advice?
Well first, try it with a spike wrench You can get one from any local golf store.
I have the same problem sometimes even using the spike wrench. You just have to get as deep into the holes as you possibly can and push down hard and turn hard all at the same time.
If that doesn't work, you can try the needle nose pliers again and try to turn them out.
When you get them all out, one thing I recommend doing is putting vaseline around the part that would screw into the shoe, then put them in. It makes it a lot easier to pull them out next time.
Yep. You need a spike wrench, and you can get one at almost any store that sells golf equipment. I got mine at Wal-Mart. Don't get a cheap one though. Get one that looks like it's going to give you plenty of torque, and last awhile.
If you still can't get them out, try a pair of vise-grip pliers. I don't recommend it, but it might work for you.
I got it with the needle nose pliers...It just took some soaking in hot water in the kitchen sink and then they popped right out! Thanks for your help guys.
The first time I tried to change mine I had dirt in the sockets. I soaked the soles with some water and it helped. I use a work glove with the flat cheap spike wrench. Without the glove it is painful.
Press hard and twist works best. The warmer the shoes the better.
Good luck
Do you guys think it's safe for the soles of the shoes using petroleum based products on them? I know that'll break down rubber, and I've never heard of any oil resistant golf shoes.
To be honest ive never playefd with golf shoes yet but ive been playing with a pair pf all white Puma's with the little nibbs on the bottom....they were really sharp little spikes when i got em but now there worn down to little flat nibs.... worked great for golf... there my driving range shoes now.., still haent picked up a pair of new shoes yet... any ideas
I don't know how old you are shadyb, but if you think your feet are through growing, go ahead and get a good pair of FootJoys, or Adidas. They're worth the extra money because they last.
If you're still growing, you might want to think about a pair of the Nike, or FootJoy tennis shoe styled shoes. They cost less, so you won't be out too much when you outgrow them.
Just my $.02 on the subject.
thanks.... ive been lookin at some dryjoys or those exotic leather footjoys...and my doctor said my feet wont grow much anymore maybe 1/2 a size...already a size 12 at 17 years of age
I like FootJoys. I've had the same pair for the last 2 seasons. By comparison, my last pair of Nikes (not the cheap tennis shoe style) only lasted about 8 months. That's why I prefer FootJoy golf shoes. I've used them for years with the exception of 1 pair of Adidas, and 1 pair of Nikes. The Adidas shoes were good, but I just never really liked the way they felt.

Wait..are you talking about another type of cleat? I'm wondering as my kids Nikes weren't cheap, heck his Adidas were cheaper, and they didn't hold up for more then three months. Is the tennis shoe not a golf shoe?
I don't know which Nikes you bought him JustMe, but the tennis shoe style golf shoes were selling here for $45 at the golf shop, so I bought a pair. Worst pair of golf shoes I ever owned, but I did get about 6 or 8 months wear out of them before they were ready for the trash. I wouldn't have gotten that if I still played more than once a week.

Never had a problem using WD-40. When I get new shoes, the first thing I do is remove all the spikes and give a little squirt of WD-40 to each socket. Then when it comes time to change them they come out with no problems.... so far anyway. Then a fresh squirt before the new spikes go in.
