I think I know how I can turn pro. If I buy 3 or 4 of the infomercial products that are each guaranteeing to cut my score by 5 strokes I can start playing on Sundays with Tiger. They show these on TV so I know they are legit.
I saw one today on 'The Hammer' , a revolutionary driver, that got me thinking about this. It made me laugh when they said it is made out of new steel compound that is more effective than Titanium. Anyone ever heard of Zolex before? Sounds like someone watched too much Dr. Who to me. They also claim that the improved aerodynamics of the club will increase your clubhead speed by 25%. I thought it was good for a chuckle.
Infomercials must be profitable as they continue to have them and I see some of the same companies I have seen for years doing them. Is there anything golf related you've seen on an infomercial that you actually bought? If so, did it yield anywhere near the results that were promised? What is the most ridiculous product ,golf related or not, you have ever seen advertised on an infomercial?

True Story - My buddy worked at the golf course where they filmed the original Hammer infomercial. The reason he's yelling POW! every time he hit the driver was to cover up the sound it made. Because of the holes in the face it would whistle just before impact and @ impact it would make a horrendous sound, like an aluminum bat hitting an empty coffee can. They couldn't edit out the sound so they overdubbed Jack's "POW!" to cover it up. I laugh every time I see the infomercial.

I actually saw a guy hitting one of these at the range today. He said he had just ordered it from a mail order catalog for $30. He told me the way he sees it is if he likes it and hits it well, he got a steal for $30, if not then he's not out much money anyway. I wanted to swing it and see how it hit, but since I just met the guy today, I didn't feel comfortable asking him. He was hitting it about 200 yards though and not really getting much lift.

The most ridiculous "golf-related" product in an infomercial has got to be those Qlink pendants, with their "Advanced SRT-3" technology.
I just looked at their website - they're asking $1000 for their gold Qlink pendants! Their cheapest pendant is $100. They show Birdie Kim and CH3 on their website as pros who wear them. I hope they're paid well...
