Yesterday I for the first time in a long time checked my shoulder alignment when I address the ball in putting.
Guess what, I found that my shoulder where pointing several degrees to the left of the target. (Im a leftie).That correlates with the fact that I have been blocking alot of puts in that direction.
My routine is now this:
(Im only sharing this because I probably won`t play one of you guys

)
1. Use the putter head to find the intended line staying behind the ball and measuring. I then keep the clubhead of the putter in that position and address my feet paralell to that line.
2. I make sure the ball is more in front of my stance than before, because Im now not behind the ball as I where, more on top of it.
3. Sqaure up my shoulder so I feel that Im almost facing the whole.
4. Take a practice stroke and feel how much "momentum" i need for the put, making sure the backswing is shorter than the throughswing.
5. Trust my alligment and not correcting the feet afterwords.
6. Stroke. Not look up to see the ball before its well past me.
And guees what. This might not work for you, but It did wonders to me.
The ball is starting in the exact line I am aiming and I can finally trust the alignment I made up behind the ball and not over it.
I made a put from 5-6 yards with on a sloping green and I was not even surprised. Also made 2 8-9 yard putts come up to 2 feet with no hassle at all.
Im not saying this to brag because I know people out there do this everyday, but what a fantastic relief. Going from three variables (allignement issues, slope of the green and speed) to only two made it so much easier.
My full swing on the other hand is in shambles so the issue now is to get to the green so I can make use of my new confidence
