That number is misleading. That number represents everyone that has ever successfully registered at Golf Rewind and has remained a member, active or not. This includes spammers who register here daily - at least 20 per day. For some time now I have been manually deleting spammers because our awol owner, the only one with the ability to do so, has neglected to place safeguards to prevent their registration...so the total number of members will rise and fall daily with the influx of spammers and their subsequent deletion. I have not always been an administrator and admin's are the only one's that can delete a member...so there are spammers still registered here from years back that never got deleted and represent a part of the total number. The total number also represents
all members, active or not, that have registered and remained members here...this dates all the way back to 2004...many have opted to move on and not be active here any more but remain legitimate, registered members, albeit inactive...some leave for a while, sometimes a long while, and opt to return later on. So the significant number is how many
active members (readers included, not just posters) we have. I honestly don't know what that number is but I can say this...our active membership rises and falls as people come and go...the "personality" of the board will morph over time, as well, as the dynamic between members will shift in some cases, solidify in others...there have been many friendships begun and maintained here

, as well as feuds, wars, enemies and hate relationships.

So the "tone" here will not always be the same. I'm personally grateful for the current bunch of active members here who respect the board and the game and make this place a lively forum...not the liveliest, I'm sure...it's a free world (mostly) on the internet and anyone's free to leave out of boredom - no harm or shame in that...but complaining about it without doing something about it smacks of a sense of entitlement, attention deficit or something of the like. I personally view boredom as a character flaw...I've had enough experiences in my lifetime that I can entertain myself for hours reflecting on them without any novel sensory input whatsoever, but that's just me. One other thing to keep in mind when considering the activity, or lack of it, here at GR...
most people have jobs to tend to and some even have lives to live outside the new idiot box (that's what I call the computer...the old idiot box was the tv - still a contender)...GR (or any discussion board, imo) was never meant to be a place to live - just a place to visit. I enjoy my visits here and then I go about living my life...read my sig.
Again, thank you to the members that appreciate GR for what it is and continue to make it so.
