Is Golf Rewind dying?

Since the Masters this site has gone downhill - many fewer new posts, new posts not appearing on the "New Posts" list, glitzy pop-up ads. What's up site managers?

Re: Is Golf Rewind dying?

Remember when the site hosting fees weren't paid for several days? Some posters probably haven't been back since. The annoying pop-ups showed up right after that too. I guess they pay the bills.

Re: Is Golf Rewind dying?

I've seen lots of new threads...

What irons should I get?
What wedges should I get?
What driver should I get?
What putter should I get?
What ball should I get?
Should I get a stand bag or cart bag?
What nickname should I get?
Do these pants make my butt look big?

etc. etc. etc.

Not dead yet... we always go through some slow periods... hopefully this just happens to be one of them.

Re: Is Golf Rewind dying?

I always find it interesting why people feel a need to complain without actually saying anything..

What I mean is that on the one hand, if you are tired or dissatisfied with a forum, why put it down on your way out? I've stopped participating on many forums as they slowed down and eventually disappeared or I just lost interest, but never once felt a need to publicly put it down.

If in the other hand, you are concerned about a forum slowing down and don't want to see it dispapear... what's the point of just complaining about it? It is supremely easy to whine and moan and point out flaws, but it doesn't really help anything. However, rather than just simply complain, why not provide some constructive criticism? If there aren't enough interesting topics, start some. (I'll admit that I've seen a good topic on a different forum or blog and started one here, but if there is any interesting article or book or even course you've played recently -- there's a thread.) If there aren't enough members, think of a way to have a membership drive. If there are some features of the forums that you think that should be here, suggest them.

I just don't see what simply complaining to complain accomplishes.

Re: Is Golf Rewind dying?

People need to frequent the site more, think of it as a community place, where you can hang around. Read about interesting things, made a few replies, etc. I agree it's kinda slow, so posts more.

Re: Is Golf Rewind dying?

The owner of GR has been AWOL since August last year.

You would think he'd care and that he would do something about it, but he doesn't.

So far, he is leaving the site up though!

Re: Is Golf Rewind dying?

This site is a lot better than one site I visit. That site has one guy that posts for no reason other than to read his own typing I think. He starts stupid topics that have no value to anyone other then add post count. Who needs that ???

If you want more action, then add an intellent post.
